Intern Unity Developer

Over the summers of 2017, 2018 and 2019, I worked as an Intern Unity Developer at Enable Education. There, I developed corporate and kids educational applications for mobile and PC devices. These included 3D work simulators, educational modules, and multiple interactive children's books.

Benjamin is very knowledgeable when it comes to Unity3D, programming and tech in general.

I was also really impressed by his great work ethic and he got along with everyone on the team.

Responsibilities

During my internship, I was tasked with:

  • Developing frameworks and modular code for use on several platforms and projects.

  • Researching and assessing technical solutions according to project needs.

  • Modelling and texturing hard surface assets using Blender.

  • Agile task evaluation and sprint planning.

Process

Throughout my time at Enable, I worked closely with educators, authors, and clients to ensure my work met their needs. I also met frequently with the Unity team to ensure my code and practices met company standards.

Additionally, I actively participated in tech research and sprint planning. This gave me a breadth of experience working on multiple projects at all stages of the development process.

Result

By the end of the internship, I had:

  • Created a Unity framework for rapid interactive book development.

  • Shipped work on 10+ projects, including several eBooks and a Unity Learn module.

  • Modelled, textured, and optimized several assets for 3D work simulators.

  • Familiarized myself with agile work processes and practices.
